To all experiencing the same problem - go to the HP support site, update BIOS to the newest version published (if you are not automatically notified of new updates), update wi-fi adapter driver to the newest version. I would rather say it was some kind of software conflict (new wi-fi adapter driver - old version of BIOS?). it was not hadware problem related to wi-fi adapter. After completeng installation and restarting laptop wi-fi suddenly started working? Since then I have been using wi-fi connection again as I used to do it before the problem started. OK, I will update BIOS and then have my laptop repaired - that was my idea. Then, it was last week, I received the message through HP Support Assistant that there was an HP update (no Windows update) - update issued by HP for specific devices. Problem solved! How? Since my initial post I have been using LAN internet connection, not being in the hurry to have my laptop repaired.
